Since Big Beautifuls® is all about being yourself, I decided to share it with you here:

If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill,
Be a scrub in the valley—but be
The best little scrub by the side of the rill;
Be a bush, if you can't be a tree.

If you can't be a bush, be a bit of the grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can't be a muskie, then just be a bass—
But the liveliest bass in the lake!

We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us here.
There's big work to do and there's lesser to do
And the task we must do is the near.

If you can't be a highway, then just be a trail,
If you can't be the sun, be a star;
It isn't by size that you win or you fail—
Be the best of whatever you are!

Little Bigs

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 272px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PNIyenlR3Aw/SgHd_etsq3I/AAAAAAAAABE/w_vj-SIaJOA/s400/Large+Lovely+LineUp.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332787516429609842" />

The original twelve (actually now only eleven since the red ballerina is sold out) are available as 11" x 14" matted prints. I never seem to get around to updating so I figure this is an easier way to keep everyone up to date on the latest Big Beautiful. I just finished a concept drawing of Big Beautiful Bicicletta (riding a Vespa, of course) for a possible commission which, unfortunately for me right now, is not a go. However, I LOVE HER, so I will definitely be painting her at some point. Although I have no fear of white space, I am fearful of my first blog. What a strange word— blogging. In my case it will be more like blurting, with an occasional rant from my inner Denise Miller whenever she is provoked. Hmmmm, this could actually be a lot of fun but very unproductive; I should be in the studio painting right this minute.
